Eierhäuschen Spreepark Berlin

At the beginning of 2024, the renovated Eierhäuschen with restaurant and beer garden was reopened as a pilot project for the future Spreepark.

The Eierhäuschen is an old Berlin restaurant. It is located on the edge of the Plänterwald forest on the banks of the Spree. It was built in the second half of the 19th century. Over the course of time, it was rebuilt twice and was in operation until 1990. The third building of the Eierhäusch from 1892 was renovated and extended and was completed in 2023 and reopened with a restaurant, beer garden and exhibition space in spring 2024.

The planning of the light and its lighting heads for the Eierhäuschen follows the premise of strengthening the monument and not competing with it. To this end, emphasis was placed on elegant restraint in relation to the listed building so that the architecture can have all the more impact. The use of decorative luminaire design was largely avoided.

The luminaire bodies stand in the background, are restrained and not historicizing.
The focus is on the light and the atmosphere of the respective area. Optimum color rendering and precise light distribution illuminate the room either selectively or over a wide area, depending on requirements.
